The Denver Nuggets defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 124-114 on Saturday night, extending their winning streak to eight games. Nikola Jokic led the way for the Nuggets with 31 points, 13 rebounds, and 9 assists, while Jamal Murray added 20 points and 7 assists.
The Lakers were led by LeBron James, who had 26 points, 11 rebounds, and 8 assists. Anthony Davis added 23 points and 9 rebounds, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Nuggets' hot shooting.
The Nuggets shot 54.2% from the field and 42.9% from three-point range, while the Lakers shot just 43.3% from the field and 31.6% from three-point range.
The Nuggets also dominated the rebounding battle, outrebounding the Lakers 50-33. Jokic was a major factor on the boards, grabbing 13 rebounds.
The win gives the Nuggets a 1-0 lead in the Western Conference semifinals. Game 2 of the series will be played on Monday night in Denver.
